A new article in August 2014’s Nurse Leader: I wrote about a topic that I spoke about at the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives Nurse Manager Forum last week at Lake Chelan WA.  In the field, I see a gap between what some nurses see as “the task list” and what they envision for the impact of these tasks on patient results.  Costly care omissions and HACs (healthcare acquired conditions) are an unanticipated outcome of this lack of correlation of tasks to outcomes.    Read it and let me know what you think!
