We RROHCed in Washington June 5-7th

Despite the weather that turned from sunny 80 degree weather to what seemed like winter rain, participants from seven different organizations assembled at the Inn at Port Ludlow from June 5-7th, 2007. What a great team! Kimberly and I feel humbled to be a part of such stellar people! We will soon post the photos from the Facilitator Intensive Session. At our salmon dinner on Tuesday evening, Sally Watkins, RN PhDc, joined us to describe the results from her research about women RNs who became CEOs. FASCINATING! What we found is that these leaders exhibited the emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and resilience we had been describing as we prepare our organizations for change and the RROHC process. Patty Cochrell, CNO from Harrison Medical Center, also joined us for dinner. Dr. Mark Sollek presented some tips on working effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.

We look forward to continuing to work with all of you!

Our conference in Washington was an uplifting experience. The excitement of the networking with my peers reinforces my love for my nursing career. It is so invigorating listening to others’ ideas on how we can get RROHC launched at Beaumont, Royal Oak. The concepts are back to the basics, reinforcing the need for communicating with our patients, their families and our coworkers. Thanks for everyone’s input to make this conference a great working experience!
